The well-thought-out design of our home ensures that we can have a number of different activities going on at the same time. Residents will never feel as if they are cramped or treading on each other’s toes, however many events are happening at any one time.

Our home was designed to provide a huge range of activities for anyone who wants to take part. We want our residents to lead active, enjoyable and rewarding lives and we will do whatever we can to help them pursue existing hobbies or try new activities. We employ an activities coordinator whose role is to discover what residents wish to become involved in.

Group activities such as painting, fitness, singing, cinema club and knitting are organised weekly. We welcome residents to join in if they wish. We make a great effort to provide entertainment as we believe that residents should be able to enjoy a wide range of performing arts. There are regular recitals in our grand piano lounge and the William Wilberforce is a frequent venue for singers, local historians and children from nearby schools who provide a variety of lively, entertaining shows for us. Trips into Pocklington are also arranged for residents who want to see the local area and enjoy the range of shops, art galleries, cafes and entertainment venues on hand nearby.
